Stan Salter - Stan's life has revolved around the horse business. After learning from his mom & sister to ride at an early age, Stan began competing in the hunter ring, with success coming in local & "A" rated shows. At 14, he began learning about horse racing, galloping horses for his father at the Bowie Training Center. Since then, he has galloped for several top local trainers, as well as Hall of Famers, Jonathan Sheppard & Nick Zito. At Towson University, Stan began his media career for his college's radio station, WTMD, covering his first Preakness in 1998. He has continued to cover the Triple Crown, and in December 2004, Stan launched Maryland Horse Radio. His motto for the show is simple: Showcase the best of Maryland's Horse Industry. Salter once served as a racing official for the Maryland Jockey Club, and is now a racing analyst for MJC on the Laurel Park and Pimlico television simulcasts.
